Event Description

It’s important to make sure each voter is well informed. - Pastor Jesse Curney III, Senior Pastor of New

Lilburn, GA - New Mercies Christian Church, one of the largest African American churches in Gwinnett County, will host “A Town Hall Thursday” for voters to meet and greet political candidates. This event is open to the public and will take place May 17 from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. at New Mercies Christian Church with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Town Hall Thursday is an opportunity for voters to learn about the
candidates and their platforms ahead of the upcoming elections. Pastor Jesse Curney III, Senior Pastor of New Mercies stated, “We wanted to encourage everyone to vote on May 22nd. However, instead of simply reminding them to vote, we know it’s important to make sure each voter is well informed.” Candidates running for District, County and State offices were invited to participate. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet and greet the candidates. Each candidate will present their platforms and respond to questions from the audience. “This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to know exactly where each candidate stands on issues that affect them personally”, said Pastor Curney. “Given the current issues facing our country, it’s more important than ever to be an informed voter. We hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity.”
