Fonda Smith has worked in radio for more than 30 years. She is currently the morning and afternoon news anchor for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. Fonda enjoys doing the news and reporting on the latest events, both locally and nationally. During 9/11, she did live reports from the studios of Metro Networks for nine hours, consecutively. She also did live reports for several radio stations in the Atlanta market, with at least two stations choosing to take her live reports over the CNN network.
Fonda has worked as a sports anchor covering football and basketball during her 30 years in the broadcast field. She hails from Ohio, and was born and raised in Lima. Fonda received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University. She has several hours toward a master’s degree in communications.
A faith filled woman of God, Fonda is a Christian and a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia.
