BronzeLens Co-Hosts Premiere of Vanishing Pearls

WCLK partner BronzeLens Film Festival (BronzeLens) will host the Atlanta Premiere of Nailah Jefferson’s directorial debut documentary VANISHING PEARLS 7:00 PM, Saturday April 26 at the Morehouse College Walter E. Massey Leadership Center-Bank of America Auditorium. Jefferson’s film chronicles the untold story of personal and professional devastation following the 2010 oil spill in Pointe a la Hache, a close-knit fishing village on the Gulf coast. The filmmaker delves into the worst environmental disaster in American history just as news cameras leave the scene of the crime.

CAU Alumni Association Candidates Forum @ ITC

The Atlanta and DeKalb chapters of the Clark Atlanta University alumni Association Present the: CAUAA National Candidates Forum:

This event will take place April 27 from 4PM to 6PM at The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) Franklin Auditorium Classroom Building 2 room 201. This event will give CAU alumni the opportunity to ask the National Presidential candidates questions about their agenda for the National CAUAA Alumni Association before the voting ballots are due.

An Evening Of Song @ MLK Chapel WCLK Digs Sacred Music

Lovers of sacred music and choral music are in for a treat on Sunday April 27 at 7pm at the Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College.  An Evening of Song is the title of a program that will feature the soaring voices of the Wendell P. Whalum Community Chorus, the combined Spelman and Morehouse College Glee Clubs, the Clark Atlanta University Philharmonic Society, and the Sister Thea Bowman Scholars from the Lyke House, the Catholic Center for the AUC.

The event is open to the public.

Serenade To The City Pick of The Week-Harvey Mason's Chameleon

Drummer and Composer Harvey Mason has provided the beat for an astounding list of artists, from Frank Sinatra to John Legend, but he's probably best known for playing as part of the Headhunters, with Herbie Hancock.  He's also a founding member of Fourplay.

Mason's new release Chameleon has a little something for everyone, if you are a fan of great beats.

WCLK PD Aaron Cohen is featuring Mason's new release on Serenade To The City, Mon-Fri 10p-2a on Atlanta's Jazz Station.  You can also hear the new record throughout the day.

Dave Bass, Jazz Musician and California Deputy Attorney General, Guests on Jazz Tones

From Jazz Tones' Jay Edwards comes words--"Dave Bass is an extraordinary individual who has co-branded himself as  Deputy State Attorney General of California and a Jazz Pianist who leaves a indelible footprint in Jazz, Latin Jazz and Blues. Atlanta Streets Alive Lets Bicycles Rule The Road In West End Sunday, April 20

Attention Atlanta:  The city will temporarily shut down miles of Atlanta streets to cars, opening them exclusively to bicyclists and pedestrians as part of Atlanta Streets Alive by Atlanta Bicycle Coalition and friends.  So bring your bicycle or just your feet and get ready to explore your community streets in a whole new way. Join us Sunday, April 20, from 2-6 p.m. on 3 miles of car-free streets in the Historic West End and Adair Park.
