April Is Jazz Appreciation Month

Of course, every month is Jazz Appreciation Month at WCLK.  But April is officially dubbed so by the Smithsonian Institution.

Many of you will be receiving Jazz Appreciation Month posters as part of your pledge premiums during our recent drive.  You can find out more about the Smithsonian's offical celebration by visiting their site here.

In the meanwhile we encourage you to celebrate by visiting the WCLK Events Calendar and finding a jazz artist to go see perform live.  Whether it's an international star in one of our world-class venues or a local player in the cozy confines of a neighborhood club, vote with your time and your pocketbook to support jazz music.

The story of America is embedded in the spirit and rhythms of jazz; captured in beats that have traveled through the African Diaspora and a spirit of freedom that has impassioned slave and free born, immigrant and migrant since America’s founding.
