Bill McGee Brings The Richmond Sound On ...still Bill

Jazz 91.9 WCLK has always played the Jazz musicians that you know and love.   We play a dynamic blend of major and independent label artists.   Bill McGee is a Richmond, Virginia born horn player who attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta in the 1970s.  He got his early break in the music business playing with classmates in Brick.   This led to side performances with artists including The O'Jays, Lou Rawls, Evelyn Champagne King and The Sugar Hill Gang.

In years since he has been a Jazz educator and founded the 804 Music Group, based in Richmond.   McGee's funky horn stylings are featured on his new release ...still Bill.   I'm featuring an original song of McGee's called Stay, and his cover of Hugh Masekela's Grazin In The Grass. You can hear these on Jazz 91.9 WCLK as newly added music, in particular during Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
