Higher Heights for America Promotes #BlackWomenVote

Black Women Vote

The Georgia voter registration deadline for November elections is Tuesday, October 11, 2016.  Saturday, September 17 at 7:00 a.m on The Local Take on Jazz 91.9 WCLK,   I talk with Higher Heights for AmericaCo-Founder, Glynda Carr about the power of voting.  Her organization promotes and supports Black women having a political voice in the community, and nation.

Black women voted at higher numbers than any other demographic in the last two presidential elections, but we make up the least number of representatives to the US Congress. Only one African American woman, Carolyn Moseley Braun, has ever served in the United States Senate.

Higher Heights for America launched a social media campaign using #BlackWomenVote.   The organization is working to build a national infrastructure to harness Black women’s political power and leadership potential.
