Jamal Ahmad featured in "A Great Day In Atlanta" Photography Exhibition

John Crooms

On Friday, October 4th, the grand opening of the highly anticipated unveiling of “A Great Day In Atlanta: 2003-2013 Before & Beyond” Photography Exhibition will be held at Art of Giving Gallery at 7pm. This exhibition chronicles a chapter of visual artists, musicians, visionaries, prolific figures, and various movers and shakers from Atlanta.  Reminiscent of the iconic photograph “A Great Day In Harlem” taken in August 1958, “A Great Day In Atlanta” was originally taken on the steps of the Woodruff Library at Clark Atlanta University on March 30, 2003, by photographer John Crooms

“The vision of A Great Day In Atlanta was an effort to acknowledge a chapter in Atlanta’s history of a ground-breaking fusion of artists and musicians as a collective renaissance, but to also serve as a platform and foundation to recognize the work of little known legend, John Crooms,” states Kemi Bennings, presenter of the exhibition and founder of Evolve Artists Live, Inc.

A Great Day In Atlanta will also feature photographs capturing moments of WCLK 91.9 FM radio personalities Jamal Ahmad and the late Ken Batey.  The exhibition is free and open to the public throughout the entire month of October.

Art of Giving Gallery is located at 115 MLK Jr. Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30303. Gallery and details are also available at www.artofgivinggalleryatl.com.
