Jazz 91.9 WCLK will provide special coverage of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service on Monday, January 18. Join us after Morning Jazz as we feature a simulcast of Fox 5 Atlanta, Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Commemorative Service coverage, live from the Horizon Sanctuary of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Following the service coverage, WCLK will air a new documentary The Power of Nonviolence: The Spirituality of Peacemaking, a project by David Freudberg, produced in association with WGBH Boston. This program looks at various faith-based peace traditions and includes original music from Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul and Mary) who was with Dr. King and performed at the 1963 March On Washington.
We will conclude our celebration of Dr. King by re-airing his iconic 'drum major for justice' sermon, entitled The Drum Major Instinct, delivered by King at Ebenezer Baptist Church on February 4, 1968.
