The Local Take: YouthBuild Places Young Adults In Construction Trades

YouthBuild Students

On the December 9 edition of The Local Take, I spoke with Charles Walker of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta about YouthBuild.  Mr. Walker explained that this program began in New York when young men were asked what they wanted to do in their neighborhoods. The program is designed for young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who are interested in a career in the construction trades.

Mr. Walker discussed the many opportunities in the construction industry from carpenters to electricians. He also spoke about constructions dynasties that grew in Atlanta referencing H. J. Russell Company and C D Moody Construction.

He goes on to explain that Atlanta has been continuously growing and that construction career offers long-term opportunity. For more information contact Mr. Charles Walker here or at 770-851-4858.

The Urban League will host information sessions about upcoming classes.  For more information on YouthBuild. For more information on The Urban League of Greater Atlanta.
