New Music: Music For Film By Terence Blanchard

Terence Blanchard is a trumpet player, composer, bandleader, and has composed the scores to over 50 films in a prolific career. His music is the accompaniment to most Spike Lee films. On this new record from Silva Screen Music, Film Fest Gent continues their tradition of honoring movie music by releasing Music For Film, featuring Blanchard and the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra.

The record features 16 cuts from films including music from Clockers, She Hate Me, Miracle At St. Ana, Bamboozled, Chi-Raq, Malcolm X and others. You can hear cuts from Music For Film on Serenade to the City on Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Monday through Friday from  10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
