Rufus Reid Talks Quiet Pride, Elizabeth Catlett With Jay Edwards On Jazz Tones

Rufus Reid is a bass player, composer, and educator whose career has endured since the mid 1970s on sides as diverse as Nancy Wilson, the Thad Jones and Mel Louis Jazz Orchestra, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Kenny Barron and many, many others.

His current project is the Grammy nominated song-cycle Quiet Pride, The Elizabeth Catlett Project, dedicated to the African American sculptor.  Be sure to listen in to Jazz Tones on WCLK, Saturday from 2p-6p to hear Jay Edwards' conversation with Reid about his art and the continuing relevance of jazz orchestral pieces.
