UK DJ Tony Minvielle Continues To Blur Genre Lines With His Debut Compilation

Sep 5, 2015

Back in the mid-90's, British DJ/Pundit Tony Minvielle spent a brief spell in Atlanta and served as a UK correspondent for Jazz 91.9fm WCLK. He turned the city on to so many modern musical styles like drum 'n' bass, trip-hop and even classic Brazilian offerings, rare groove and so much more. I was honored when he asked me to write the liner notes for this sublime collection of great tunes. His time spent in Atlanta left an indelible impression on this city's musical consciousness, so it's only right that we show him love for his debut compilation "Tony Minvielle presents Into Something Vol. 1". It's a soulful, mixed bag of modern jazz, soul, Brazilian and otherworldly sounds and I'll be featuring music from it on my Saturday evening show, The S.O.U.L. Of Jazz from 6-9pm est.  Check out a selection from the compilation from keyboardist and Snarky Puppy collaborator, Corey Henry, right here.
