Houston-born drummer extraordinaire Michael Carvin has played with a who's who of jazz greats, from Freddie Hubbard to Pharoah Sanders. His latest project features a razor-sharp quartet including Keith Loftis on tenor sax, pianist Yakoi Ikawa and Jansen Cinco. They play propulsive straight ahead versions of such jazz classics as Monk's In Walked Bud and Miles' So What.
