WCLK mourns the passing of our former Program Director Bobby Jackson, the host of The Roots of Smooth. Jackson wrote, broadcast, lectured and otherwise promoted jazz constantly during his too-short lifetime. WCLK listeners regularly hear Bobby’s voice on Sunday afternoons from 3-4pm on Atlanta’s Jazz Station. We will bring you more information about the future direction of that show as we learn it. In the meanwhile our prayers and good wishes go to his family and loved ones. Jazz in heaven just gained a great emcee.
WCLK Program Director Aaron Cohen knew Jackson personally. "He was a mentor to me earlier in my career at KTSU 90.9 FM in Houston. I was pleased to bring The Roots Of Smooth to WCLK when I had the chance. He will be missed. Godspeed, Bobby."
