The Local Take with Kiplyn Primus features discussions about critical issues facing Atlanta and profiles of organizations doing important work in the communities served by WCLK. As public broadcasters it is part of our mission to engage with the community and feature people and issues that aren't always covered by mainstream, commercial media outlets.

Kiplyn Primus is a graduate of Howard University and Clark Atlanta University and has a long career in public and commercial media. She is a veteran facilitator for StoryCorps' Atlanta studio, and has written extensively on global and local initiatives for a number of publications.

Join Kiplyn Primus for The Local Take on the WCLK Public Affairs Block Saturday morning at 7am before Tavis Smiley. Her guest Saturday is Adrienne White. White is Chair of Georgia's Win List. This is a political action committee dedicated to changing the face of power in Georgia by recruiting and training women to seek political office.

As part of her ongoing series of discussions and programs about Restorative Justice, Kiplyn Primus talks with Tracy Rolle, community advocate and author of NCHARGE, A Guide To Managing A Result Driven Life After Incarceration.

Through her worked with a loved one in the criminal justice system, Rolle developed a knowledge base and some strategies that can help people in prison transition back into society with a legitimate second chance, and help their families keep it together during difficult times.

Clark Atlanta University is proud to host the 2015 Washington Mandela Fellowship For Young African Leaders for the second straight year. During June and July, 50 ‪#‎MandelaFellows‬ will participate in academic and leadership institutes in Atlanta, Georgia!

WCLK would like to thank our new Business Member Giwayen Mata, presenting a Salute To Men, an African drum and dance concert honoring the struggles, victories and celebrations of manhood. This event takes place Sunday afternoon at 3pm at the Drew Charter Senior Acadamy Theater, 300 East Lake Boulevard in Atlanta 30317.
