Buckhead-Cascade City Chapter of The Links Fights Human Trafficking in ATL

The Buckhead-Cascade City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is made up of leading Atlanta-area African American women who are committed to making a difference in our city's horrific human trafficking problem.  They do this by raising public awareness and by supporting organizations that are saving girls and women from the sex trade and allowing them space to heal and try to build normal lives.

Fulton Focus Touches On Career Development and Preventive Health

Fulton Focus is a joint production by Fulton County Communications and WCLK Public Affairs.  It airs on WCLK Saturday morning at 7:30a just before the Tavis Smiley show from PRI.  On this week's program we feature a September 25 Career Gathering and Job Fair at the Fulton County Government Center.  We'll also catch up with the Fulton County SPARC program, designed to provide preventive care to Fulton County's Elderly residents.

Jason Mott Talks About His Hit Debut Novel "The Returned"

North Carolina poet and novelist Jason Mott joined WCLK to talk about his first novel The Returned, in advance of his Sunday appearance at the Decatur Book Festival.  Mott's book imagines a world in which people who have died return to life and what impact that has on the lives of those they originally left behind.  It's earned critical praise and caught the eye of Brad Pitt's production company, which is creating a TV series based on the book that will be filmed in Georgia.

CAU President Dr. Carlton Brown Featured On CAU Now

CAU President Dr. Carlton E. Brown joins Desmond Dickerson on CAU Now on WCLK for an informative and insightful conversation about all things CAU at the beginning of the school year.  The program can be heard on demand here and at 7:30am Saturday, August 30 exclusively on the Jazz of The City.

Dr. Brown discusses various initiatives, including the growth of the Cancer Research Center on campus, possible impact of the Atlanta Falcons stadium on the AUC, and outreach efforts to international students that will bring entirely new flavors to the CAU Promenade.

Operation PEACE Serves Atlanta's Old 4th Ward, Featured On WCLK

Operation P.E.A.C.E. after school program

PEACE stands for Partnerships In Education And Community Enrichment.

Operation P.E.A.C.E was founded in 1995 when Edna Moffett and 25 college students residing at Bedford Pine in Atlanta met to discuss how to improve the lives of the children in this low income community.

Their first step was to develop an innovative after-school program, with the help of Wingate Management and HUD.

Since then, Operation P.E.A.C.E has expanded to include a youth summer academy, adult computer and job search training, and seniors programs.
