Check out the trailer for Devyne Johnson's new independent film, "Mosaic," which opens at the Plaza Theatre this weekend---September 24 & 25.  The film follows Ruth Anderson, is an ambitious, divorced mother with misplaced priorities and shattered relationships with her immediate family.

The Fort Mac Fall Festival at Fort McPherson kicks off this weekend.   On Saturday morning, October 24 at 7:00 a. m. on The Local Take we speak with Atlanta Council Member, Joyce Sheperd, about the many changes occurring in her district around Ft. McPherson.  

Council Member Sheperd explains that this is more than a festival.   In addition to live music, tours and vendors, the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority will be on hand to allow the community to have input into their redevelopment plans.

The National Black Arts Festival continues its 2015 program with a Spotlight Series Performance from Step Afrika! on Saturday, August 29 at 6 p.m. at Atlanta's Center Stage.  Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Step Afrika!, a Washington DC-based company, has paved the way as the first professional company in the world dedicated to the African-derived tradition of stepping, popularized in films like “Drumline” (2002) and “Stomp the Yard” (2007).

Atlanta based jazz singer Tony Hightower stopped by Jazz 91.9 WCLK studios this week to chat with Midday Jazz announcer RivaBlue. During the interview, Hightower dished about the re-release of his new album, The New Standard Deluxe and so much more. Soul Train Music Award winner and R&B Soul-Jazz vocalist, Maysa Leak had fans “spellbound and speechless” Wednesday night during the Atlanta premiere party for her new CD, Back2Love.  The event took place at the Museum Bar as part of a new “Wednesday Night Live Series” and featured a live performance by Maysa and Q&A session with Jazz 91.9 WCLK’s Jamal Ahmad.

Paramount Pictures has released a new featurette about the upcoming Atlanta crime drama, Captive, starring David Oyelowo and Kate Mara. The film is based on the book, Unlikely Angel: The Untold Story of the Atlanta Hostage Hero.
