CAU Now

U.S. Department of Education Under Secretary Ted Mitchell visited Clark Atlanta University on Tuesday for a listening session with CAU students, as part of a national tour highlighting the Obama Administration's Higher Education Agenda.  He also stopped by WCLK to discuss college affordability and opportunity, as he leads efforts to reach President Obama’s 2020 goal, for our nation to once again have the largest proportion of college graduates in the world.

CAU's Peter Molnar, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Clark Atlanta University Department of Computer and Information Science, who last week was among a select group of industry leaders chosen to deliver keynote addresses at the Atlanta branch of the "Big Data Week" global conference.

CAU Now on March 22 featured Interim Clark Atlanta University Vice President for Institutional Advancement and University Relations Trisa Long Paschal, who shared her vision for a strong and sustainable future for one of America's great HBCUs.  You can listen to that conversation on demand here.

CAU Now on WCLK Saturday morning at 7:30a before Tavis will feature CAU Scholar Athlete Nekesha Whitaker, a finalist for this year's Arthur Ashe Award for the top woman athlete in the NCAA.  Whitaker, a two-time SIAC women's cross country champion and four-time SIAC All-Academic and scholar-athlete, was also named this year's recipient of the 2013 Peach of an Athlete Top Female Athlete Award for her commitment to community, athletic and academic excellence.

CAU President Dr. Carlton E. Brown joins Desmond Dickerson on CAU Now on WCLK for an informative and insightful conversation about all things CAU at the beginning of the school year.  The program can be heard on demand here and at 7:30am Saturday, August 30 exclusively on the Jazz of The City.

Dr. Brown discusses various initiatives, including the growth of the Cancer Research Center on campus, possible impact of the Atlanta Falcons stadium on the AUC, and outreach efforts to international students that will bring entirely new flavors to the CAU Promenade.
