CAU

The week of November 14 - 18 is American Education week. Saturday on The Local Take on WCLK I spoke with Dr. Moses Norman, Dean of the Clark Atlanta University School of Education about this event.

Clark Atlanta University is exceeding goals for Fall 2016 enrollment, as anyone who walks the promenade on a sunny afternoon already knows.   Tune into Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Saturday, October 29 at 7:00 a.m. for the October edition of CAU Now-Lifting Every Voice.   We discuss why more students are choosing CAU and how students who don't typically have access to higher education can earn a degree from a great HBCU.

Clark Atlanta University President Dr. Ronald A. Johnson stopped by the SOUL of Jazz during WCLK's Fall Jazz-A-Thon to talk with Jamal Ahmad  about his love of Jazz and his vision for CAU.  Dr. Johnson is officially inaugurated as the fourth President of CAU on Saturday, October 8.  Festivities include a series of events and symposia.   For information on those events, click here.

Horace Henry

Saturday, September 17 on The Local Take on Jazz 91.9 WCLK, I talk with Clark Atlanta University Alumnus Horace Henry, who as a student at CAU in 1969.  Henry took his new camera with him to attend the ecumenical service for Martin Luther King, Jr.   Henry's photos of that historic event, the first real birthday observance for Dr. King after his 1968 assassination, are now featured in the new National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
