Clark Atlanta University President Carlton E. Brown is leaving CAU at the end of June after seven years at the helm of one of America's great HBCUs. Dr. Brown has been a friend of WCLK from the beginning, and we wish he and his bride the very best for the times to come.
We plan to welcome incoming President Dr. Ronald A. Johnson to the WCLK microphone when the time is right, but we wanted to chat with Dr. Brown and have him pause and reflect on his time at the AUC. He joined Jamal Ahmad on The Soul of Jazz to talk about it, and to enjoy some well-played Coltrane by Jamal.
Jaquitta Williams and her guests on the May edition of Your Health Connection Wednesday talked about the Center For Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development and what they've been working on this year and how it may someday soon affect the life of you or your loved ones.
Our guests this month included Clark Atlanta University President Dr. Carlton Brown, CCRTD Director Dr. Shafiq Khan, Clark Atlanta University Trustee Mrs. Juanita Baranco, CCRTD Scientists Dr. Joann Powell and Dr. Kimberly Davis, and CCRTD Doctoral student Clement Boston.
CAU President Dr. Carlton E. Brown joins Desmond Dickerson on CAU Now on WCLK for an informative and insightful conversation about all things CAU at the beginning of the school year. The program can be heard on demand here and at 7:30am Saturday, August 30 exclusively on the Jazz of The City.
Dr. Brown discusses various initiatives, including the growth of the Cancer Research Center on campus, possible impact of the Atlanta Falcons stadium on the AUC, and outreach efforts to international students that will bring entirely new flavors to the CAU Promenade.
