friday jazz at the high

Stay outta that traffic jam and swing by Atlanta's High Museum for the latest edition of Friday Jazz At The High.  This month's event features the Steve Dancz Sextet and your emcee Jamal Ahmad.  You can stroll current exhibits in the Wieland Pavillion Galleries and get your live jazz on at the same time.

Kevin Bales on piano means solid jazz music.  He plays this evening at Atlanta's High Museum as part of the Friday Jazz At The High series, hosted by WCLK's Jamal Ahmad.  The event kicks off at 5:00pm and goes until 10pm and is your perfect excuse to sit out the traffic jam, dig some jazz, and take in the High's current and permanent art exhibits, including Witness: The Art of Jerry Pinkney.  Kevin stopped by WCLK this week to chat with Jamal about Friday Jazz at the High and what he's been working on musically.

Sep 19, 2013

The High Museum of Art is pleased to present Gary Motley for September's Friday Jazz artist.  Sit out the Friday traffic and join your host Jamal Ahmad for some hot jazz and cool art.  Motley stopped by WCLK to rap with Jamal about the gig.

Mace Hibbard dropped by WCLK today and talked for a while with Riva Blue about Friday Night's Friday Jazz At The High Museum performance, beginning at 5pm.  Y0u can beat the traffic, swing hard to some mainstream jazz and take in The Girl With The Pearl Earring.  Get your Vermeer on and hear Grammy Award Winning Saxophonist Hibbard, playing with Melvin Jones on trumpet, Louis Heriveaux on piano, Marc Miller on bass, and Marlon Patton on drums.

You can join Nicole Sweeney and Justin Chesarek for this month's edition of Friday Jazz At The High Museum.  Chesarek will be joined by a hot trio for the perfect way for you to avoid the traffic jam.  Catch the Dutch masterpiece paintings of the "Girl With A Pearl Earring" exhibit and fill your head with straight ahead Jazz At The High.
