She explains that dementia is an umbrella term that includes a plethora of unique diagnoses. As with other diseases, the African-American community suffers disproportionately to the general population.

The Local Take Talks about the Health As A Human Right with Dr. Kim Ramsey-White, Director of Undergraduate Programs in School of Public Health at Georgia State University.

Join us for CAU NOW-Lifting Every Voice, Saturday, April 29 at 7:00 a.m. on Jazz 91.9 WCLK.  This edition will highlight the Fifth Annual Atlanta Studies Symposium, a collaboration between the Clark Atlanta University Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and the James Weldon Johnson Institute at Emory University.  

A roundtable discussion will take place at Noon on Wednesday, April 26 in the Exhibition Hall at the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library.  Panelists will include:  Dr. Barbara Harris Combs, Clark Atlanta University;  Samuel Livingston, Morehouse College; Calinda Lee, Atlanta History Center; Deirdre Oakley; and, Dr. Maurice Hobson, Georgia State University and Charles Stephens of the Counter Narrative Project.   Dr. Kali-Ahset Amen of Emory University will serve as our moderator.
