WCLK features NPR Music's new flagship jazz program Jazz Night In America with Christian McBride, Sunday evenings at 7p. This week's program features a tribute to the inimitable jazz sounds of the Hammond B-3 organ, the first electric keyboard. Philadelphia was a center of the original B-3 jazz sound, including that of the late, great Jimmy Smith.
This week's program is a live recording from WXPN Philadelphia's World Cafe Live, including many of Philly's best live jazz musicians.
Those of you who made it to last week's Friday Jazz At The High event with Ike Stubblefield know the power of the mighty Hammond B-3 organ. You won't want to miss JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater from NPR this weekend on WCLK. Show will air at 6:00am Saturday and 7pm Sunday on Atlanta's Jazz Station.
This week's performance features Smith and his trio live at the Kennedy Center Jazz Club in Washington, D.C.
