Join WCLK's Jamal Ahmad this week for Friday Jazz at the High. This month features the sounds of trumpeter and vocalist Jason Collier. It also includes access to the entire museum including the picture book art exhibition, “The Wonderful World of Ashley Bryan.” Friday Jazz also includes food, drinks and more.  

 

Support for WCLK programming comes from the High Museum of Art, presenting Fever Within: The Art of Ronald Lockett. This exhibition features more than 50 works by Lockett, including paintings and sculptures made from salvaged materials. Fever Within: The Art of Ronald Lockett is on view now through January 8. Fahamu Pecou Talks Life, Art, New High Exhibit

Fahamu Pecou is a multi-media artist, performer and scholar who is the contemporary artistic counterpoint to the work of Cuban Surrealist Wilfredo Lam in the new exhibit Imagining New Worlds at Atlanta's High Museum.  He stopped by WCLK to chat with Kiplyn Primus in a Local Take segment about life, art, and culture.  You can hear it on the WCLK Public Affairs Block Saturday morning at seven before Tavis.

Friday Night Music Remix at Atlanta's High Museum this month features The Laura Coyle Quintet, with WCLK's Jamal Ahmad as your host.  Admission also includes access to the High's permanent collection and all exhibitions, including Cezanne And The Modern, with works from Van Gogh, Manet, Degas, and Pisarro.  The event takes place Friday evening, November 21 from 5pm until 10pm.
