Joe Gransden is the April artist for Friday Jazz At The High Museum.  Atlanta's best remedy to Friday traffic jams is to head to Atlanta's great art museum for art and jazz jams.  This Friday's event takes place from 5p-10p.   WCLK's Jamal Ahmad is your emcee, and Joe Gransden is one of Atlanta's foremost players, singers, bandleaders and arrangers.  He's also a friend of WCLK, so we can assure you this will be a great event for the WCLK family.  You can also check out the current High Museum exhibits.

Swing by Atlanta's High Museum of Art Friday March 21 from 5pm until 10pm for Friday Jazz.  You can take in all of the latest exhibits, and catch jazz vocalist Karla Harris and her combo.  It's the best way to beat Atlanta's Friday traffic jam.  The event is hosted by WCLK's Jamal Ahmad.  We hope to see you there.

From Jamal Ahmad, who hosted this edition of WCLK's ongoing Jazz Education series. "...Had a wonderful time hosting the Jazz Roots educational series this morning at North Atlanta High School w/ legendary South African singer/guitarist, Jonathan Butler! It was so inspiring to see him jam with a quartet that was comprised of students! They jammed Charlie Parker's "Now is the time" and Stanley Turrentine's "Sugar" and even played a traditional South African tune with him! Don't count the kids out good people! There is still hope!"

Dave Koz and Jamal Ahmad caught up this week and discussed Koz's upcoming appearance at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre December 2.
