Jazz 91.9 WCLK Atlanta's Jazz Station

NEW MUSIC: Michael McDonald Is Back With Wide Open

Oct 16, 2017

Michael McDonald is back with his BMG release Wide Open, his first album of original material in 17 years. Recorded with the cream of the crop of Nashville session musicians as well as guitarists Robben Ford and Warren Haynes, along with Branford Marsalis and Marcus Miller, Wide Open is a good listen if you've enjoyed McDonald's blue-eyed soul for as long as we have.

Jazz 91.9 WCLK Fall Membership Campaign takes place now through October 15.  Make a financial pledge to help  preserve Jazz and and keep the station you love alive.   Jazz 91.9 WCLK!

Mindi Abair is a superb Contemporary Jazz saxophonist and vocalist, with the Grammy nominations and touring chops to back it up.   She's a friend of Jazz 91.9 WCLK and always drops by WCLK when she is in Atlanta to perform.

Jazz 91.9 WCLK is in need of volunteer phone operators to help take calls during the WCLK Fall Membership Campaign. The campaign takes place October 4 through 15 in WCLK studios.

Volunteering is a great way to support Atlanta’s only Jazz station. And, spend some time with your favorite Jazz 91.9 WCLK announcers. If you have a few hours to spare come on over and spend some time at WCLK.

The Local Take talks to Toni Simmons Henson, founder and director of Atlanta Black Theatre Festival  to share information about this year's event. Toni explains that each year they aim to make it bigger and better and they succeeded again for 2017.
