Atlanta-based Jazz Rennaissance Man Joe Gransden has a new record out on Cafe 290 Records, Go Getta. The title track comes courtesy of Friend of  Jazz 91.9 WCLK Kipper Jones, and features a solo turn from Kenny G.   

Gransden has wanted to lead his own big band since his youthful days as fourth trumpet in the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. On Go Getta he brings together his big band, seen live locally by many ATL Jazz fans, for a tight, swinging set of 14 songs. 

Vocalist and Georgia Music Hall of Famer Peabo Bryson has joined the list of celebrities playing golf with WCLK Monday at Chateau Elan. Join us for a morning tee time, 18 holes of championship calibre golf, and plenty of fun and banter with your favorite WCLK announcers and our participating celebrities including The Champ Evander Holyfield, Joey Sommerville, Norman Brown, Kipper Jones, Jeff Sparks, Dr. Marvin Pryor and Nelson Render of The PR Experience, Carmen Rodgers and Peabo!

There will be a special live performance by Ragan Whiteside.

Norman Brown is an internationally-known jazz guitarist and a friend of WCLK and Clark Atlanta University. He'll be one of a number of celebrities including Evander Holyfield, Joey Sommerville, Jeff Sparks, and Kipper Jones  joining us at for the WCLK Golf Event Monday, August 31 at the Chateau Elan Winery and Resort Golf Club northeast of Atlanta.  Golfers can play the beau­ti­ful 7,030 yard, par 71 with con­toured fair­ways, three lakes and two mean­der­ing streams.

WCLK recommends the Inaugural West End Music + Art Festival Sunday May 17 at The Wren's Nest in Atlanta's Historic West End. In addition to a performance by the Dangerfeel Newbies, featuring WCLK's Jamal Ahmad and Mark Angel, artists include Lonnie Liston Smith, Billal, Kipper Jones, Rhonda Thomas, Carmen Rodgers, MC Spectrac and Audio Wolf.
