LifeSouth Community Blood Centers continues to face an emergency need for all blood types in January. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is issuing an emergency appeal for O-negative blood donors due to a critical shortage of this type.

O-negative blood is the universal type because it can be given to any patient in times of emergency. Only about 7 percent of Americans are O-negative, but they can help 100 percent of those needing blood.

The Third Annual Local Take Community Health Forum takes place on Saturday, December 5 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Northlake Mall, 4800 Briarcliff Road, NE Atlanta, GA 30345.   I'll be your host for an afternoon-long public event designed to help families achieve a healthier 2016.

Join us at North Dekalb Mall 2050 Lawrenceville Highway - Decatur, GA on Saturday and Sunday, December 13th & 14th 12:00 NOON – 4 PM for the 2nd Annual WCLK Local Take on HEALTH community forum.  Congressman Hank Johnson is our honorary host, and he’s bringing representatives from Veterans Administration to assist with veterans issues.
