Saturday, September 17 on The Local Take on Jazz 91.9 WCLK, I talk with Clark Atlanta University Alumnus Horace Henry, who as a student at CAU in 1969.  Henry took his new camera with him to attend the ecumenical service for Martin Luther King, Jr.   Henry's photos of that historic event, the first real birthday observance for Dr. King after his 1968 assassination, are now featured in the new National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

Jazz 91.9 WCLK celebrates the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on his national day of service by airing FOX 5 Atlanta’s live broadcast of the 47th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Service live from Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Jazz 91.9 WCLK coverage begins at 10:00 a.m.,  Monday, January 18 following Morning Jazz with Morris Baxter.

Morris Baxter was joined Wednesday morning by Director Jasmine Guy and Actor Demetria McKinney to talk about the True Colors Theatre Company production of The Mountaintop, which portrays the final night of the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., as imagined by playwright Katori Hall.
