Nicole Sweeney Hosts Steve Dancz and Willy Ziavino At Friday Jazz @ The High

Join Nicole Sweeney for Friday Jazz @ The High Museum this evening beginning at 5pm for a double feature that will last until midnight.  Steve Dancz and his sextet will play, followed by the Latin sounds of Willy Ziavino and the C.O.T. Band.

Stroll the museum and take in the Frida and Diego exhibit, and settle in for some top-flight jazz, all hosted by your Midday Jazz Swing host Nicole.

Friend of WCLK Joe Gransden and a combo of friends will appear at Friday Jazz At The High Museum this Friday, March 15.

Nicole Sweeney from The Midday Jazz Swing will be your emcee for a Friday late-afternoon/early evening wind down, beginning at 5:00pm.

Admission is free to High Members and admission to the Museum will get you in for Friday Jazz.

Cast of Fela! Stops By The Midday Jazz Swing With Nicole Sweeney

The Tony Award-Winning Musical Fela! is in performance at Atlanta's Fox Theatre through March 6.  This sight and sound spectacular tells the story of one of the most compelling figures in modern African music, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Kuti, who essentially invented Afro-beat, blending jazz, funk, and African music stylings, attempted to live the live of a politically aware artist in the midst of military dictatorship in his native Nigeria.  Fela! tells this amazing story through music and dance.

Victor Goines, Gary Motley Talk To Nicole Sweeney About Schwartz Center Show

Victor Goines

Victor Goines is one of Jazz music's most acclaimed and prolific horn players, his work appearing from Lincoln Center to Hollywood soundtracks.  He stopped by The Midday Jazz Swing with Gary Motley, who appeared with him at the Emory University Schwartz Center Friday night.  They chatted with Nicole Sweeney and caught WCLK listeners up with what they'll be doing at their performance.

Atlanta is a second home for Goines, and tonight's jam session should delight and challenge the serious jazz fans in attendance.
