Kathleen Bertrand stopped by to talk with Jamal Ahmad on The SOUL of Jazz on WCLK. They talked about her music and about her appearance on a Sisters In Song show at the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center on the campus of Morehouse College on Sunday, August 20 at 5pm. The performance is a joint production of Atlanta's Bronze Lens Film Festival and the Morehouse School of Music. Vocalists in addition to Bertrand include Rhonda Thomas, Pamela Dillard, Chandra Currelly, Theresa Hightower, and Brenda Nicole Moorer. They will be singing their favorite songs from movies. The BronzeLens Film Festival and the Morehouse College Department of Music have joined together to present an evening of music celebrating the music of our lives from the movies on Sunday, August 20 at 5:00 p.m..   This evening at the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center features an assemblage of some of Atlanta’s best female vocalists including:   Kathleen Bertrand, Chandra Currelley, Julie Dexter, Pamela Dillard, Theresa Hightower, Brenda Nicole Moorer and Rhonda Thomas.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival returns to Piedmont Park this Memorial Day Weekend May 22-24 for three days of music, arts & culture and lots of food. Scheduled artists include Diane Schuur, Arturo O’Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Pharoah Sanders and a special tribute to Nina Simone featuring Kathleen Bertrand, Julie Dexter, Rhonda Thomas and Terry Harper.  Jazz 91.9 WCLK will also be broadcasting live from media row on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24. 

WCLK recommends the Inaugural West End Music + Art Festival Sunday May 17 at The Wren's Nest in Atlanta's Historic West End. In addition to a performance by the Dangerfeel Newbies, featuring WCLK's Jamal Ahmad and Mark Angel, artists include Lonnie Liston Smith, Billal, Kipper Jones, Rhonda Thomas, Carmen Rodgers, MC Spectrac and Audio Wolf.
