NEW MUSIC: Personal Touch By Vincent Ingala

Saxaphonist and multi-instrumentalist, Vincent Ingala is out with his fifth record.   Personal Touch (Shanachie) features Ingala playing, performing and producing across all tracks on the record.  He's still in his twenties and is a rising star in Contemporary Jazz, with a string of top 10 Billboard hit songs.

You can hear cuts from Personal Touch at various times on Jazz 91.9 WCLK in particular during Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.

Support for Jazz 91.9 WCLK Programming comes from the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, presenting the 41st Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival at Piedmont Park, May 26 - 27.   WCLK will be on hand and we'll join you in welcoming two days of top-flight Jazz artists including:  Dianne Reeves, Jon Batiste with The Dap Kings, Teri Lyne Carrington and Social Science, Jazzmeia Horn, Tia Fuller Quartet, Anat Cohen Quartet and many more.

Programming on Jazz 91.9 WCLK is made possible in part by St. James Live, presenting for one night only, Keyboardist Marcus Johnson, host of Catch The Flo on Jazz 91.9 WCLK (Saturdays, 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.).   Johnson plays Pop, Rock and Jazz and you hear his music on the station, regularly.

Pianist Benito Gonzalez has been on the Jazz radar globally since winning the 2005 Great American Jazz Piano Competition.  Over the years Benito has accompanied: Curtis Fuller, Pharaoh Sanders, Bobby Hutcherson, Christian McBride, Ignacio Berroa, Roy Hargrove, Rene McLean, Steve Turre, Hamiet Bluiett, Antonio Sanchez, T.K. Blue, Nicholas Payton and Jackie Mclean. 

The Jazz 91.9 WCLK 44th Anniversary Fall Benefit Concert will feature Jazz Vocalist, Bobby McFerrin on Friday, November 30, 8:00 PM at Atlanta Symphony Hall.   Reserve your seats for this great evening of Jazz by clicking here.  McFerrin rose to mainstream popularity thanks to hit his hit song – Don’t Worry, Be Happy.  He is a 10 time GRAMMY Award winner who has also worked in collaboration with: Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea ,and Cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
