"A Central History Lesson" composed by Dr. Sharon J. Willis, Clark College Alumna, Retired CAU Music Department Chair, Founder of the Americolor Opera Alliance, and the Traditional Worship Director of Central United Methodist Church. This production chronicles the 160th Anniversary of Central United Methodist Church, the oldest African American United Methodist Church in Atlanta through music and acting. Central is also the birthplace of Clark College and subsequently Gammon Theological Seminary.

Start your visit in Change Agent Adventure: The Children’s Gallery, an interactive “secret headquarters” designed for children 12 and under. Here, young changemakers step into action through hands-on play, creative problem-solving, and experiences that build empathy, courage, and confidence.

Then, keep the adventure going throughout the museum with family-friendly programming designed to spark curiosity and connection. Every Saturday offers something new to explore together.

Adult (21+), Social, Coed Kickball Leagues Looking for a way to stay active without forcing yourself into another gym routine you’ll quit in a couple of months? Joining a social, coed, kickball team is an easy, fun way to move your body, get outside, and stay consistent without it feeling like a workout. You’ll run, kick, laugh, and burn energy while spending time with people who make showing up the best part. It’s fitness disguised as fun. No guilt. No pressure. Just movement that fits real life. Leagues begin the week of September 8 - September 14. Teams play 1 scheduled game per week at/on their chosen park/day. We offer social rec kickball, intermediate kickball, & competitive kickball. Calling all little opera lovers! The Atlanta Opera is bringing JoJo Finds His Voice by Jon Neal Selzer to the Switzer Library on Monday, September 22 at 3pm, featuring Bella Chaney. Opera Storytime invites early learners into the world of opera through singing, music, and dramatic play, building narrative awareness and vocabulary along the way, all while discovering what makes opera so special. The National Center for Race Amity presents its 2026 Atlanta Race Amity Leadership Symposium, “Bias and Belonging in the Age of AI.”

Authors Howard J. Ross and Jake Ross, co-authors of the second edition of Everyday Bias, will lead an interactive, intergenerational conversation exploring how artificial intelligence, social media, algorithms and online communities influence unconscious bias, identity, belonging and perceptions of race and difference.

Participants will consider how curiosity, humility and genuine human connection can help us become more conscious users and creators of technology—and build a future in which more people experience dignity, understanding and belonging.
