Your Health Connection on WCLK featured a timely and important discussion of triple negative breast cancer for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In a fascinating twist for listeners, our host JaQuitta Williams was also the guest survivor featured on the program. She is a survivor of this particularly tough form of the disease, which disproportionately affects young people and African Americans.
JaQuitta was joined by leading Atlanta Surgeon Dr. Rogsbert Phillips-Reed, who operated on her and has helped many Atlantans through the ordeal of breast cancer over the years.
The legendary Sergio Mendes hits ATL next week as part of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Jazz Roots Series "A Night In Rio" concert on Saturday night October 26. He called in to chat with Jamal Ahmad recently about his music, and this fascinating tour.
