From October 15 - October 23, almost a pop-up event, this multi-faceted, arts exhibit will include installations of art work, musical performances with block parties and a featured performance from B.O.B., documentary films, and other works that you will have experience. Even our new streetcars will be in on the event, there are dancers, performance art and more!
Plan to visit the Fairlie-Poplar and Woodruff Park areas for installations about our ATLANTA, her history and her future and why so many of us call ATLANTA home.
Artist, Fahamu Pecou, curator of this show shares his experience of engaging with artist from all over the world who understand the sentiment "Forever I Love Atlanta -F.I.L.A". He will host a guided tour of ELEVATE on Monday, 10/19 at 1:00 p.m., take a late lunch for this not to be missed experience.
A leader in the Southern Hip Hop Movement, Rico Wade shares how Atlanta became and continues to be a force in music innovation from OutKast to Future. The Art of Organized Noize Panel discussion will take place on on Wednesday, 10/21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rialto Center for the Arts.
Both gentlemen explain why ATLANTA continues to live up to her symbol of rebirth the Phoenix. Everyday it seems our city and metropolitan area sheds one facade for another. ELEVATE F(orever) I L(ove) A(tl) – F.I.L.A celebrates this cultural phenomenon that is uniquely ATLANTA.
