How It Began...

Mar 17, 2017

In 1967, Congress established the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). Three years later, National Public Radio (NPR) was created as a national production and, distribution center for news, information and cultural programming. That was 50 years ago.

Today, public radio is a network of individual members stations and supporters nationwide, including Jazz 91.9 WCLK. Public Radio has undergone many changes and challenges since 1970, but the commitment to innovation and, exploring new ways to serving our listeners through quality content delivered via improved digital platforms and technologies has never been greater. Your Jazz 91.9 WCLK membership makes it possible!
