Carmen Lundy

Join me Sunday, February 26 on Jazz Tones on  Jazz 91.9 WCLK from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.   I talk with renowned vocalist Carmen Lundy about her new Afrasia Productions release Code Noir.  According to Lundy, "these songs encompass the musical and artistic influences from the African Diaspora and it's influences -- Jazz, Blues, Swing, Funk and the exploration into the Avant-Garde." This musical release is Carmen's personal musical voyage.  The masterful musicians that accompany her include: Patrice Rushen on piano; Ben Williams on bass; Jeff Parker on electric guitar; Kendrick Scott on drums; and, Elizabeth Oei on percussion.  Code Noir refers to the 'Black Code', the first laws written setting out the legal status of slaves in America, enacted by French King Louis XV to pertain to Louisiana in 1724.
