Jan. 31: Unity Jazz Foundation Celebrates Strayhorn & Ellington Featuring Rivablue

The music of Jazz Legends like Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn and others come alive as the Unity Jazz Foundation celebrates its second anniversary with a tribute called Lush Life.   The evening will include Ed Jaxon with the amazing Neo-Renaissance Jazz Orchestra along with  Vocalists Toni Byrd, Dia Scott, Alvin Stone Maddox and Lutalo “Sweet Lu” Olutosin.   Jazz 91.9 WCLK's Rivablue will also sing at this event.  Also featured that evening will be a special guest performance by the 2016 Unity Jazz Foundation (UJF) Endowment Award Recipient, Lamont Lane and the South Atlanta High School Jazz Ensemble.

The Unity Jazz Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2009 as The Atlanta Jazz Association.  Atlanta Native, Businessman, Vocalist/Musician and Jazz Advocate, Stan Bryant visualized this as a Forum Platform where a small group of participants could meet, greet, educate and be educated about "all things Jazz".   As a 501 (c) 3 organization, UJF began offering endowments and scholarships to students of music and,  performing arts programs  in schools.

Tickets and information about Lush Life and the Unity Jazz Foundation are available at www.UnityJazz.org. Portions of the proceeds for the event will go to the Unity Jazz Foundation Music Education Fund.
