Joe Chambers is a percussionist, composer and arranger who played with everyone from Eric Dolphy and Freddie Hubbard to Bobby Hutcherson, Joe Henderson and Wayne Shorter. He was an original member of Max Roach's percussion ensemble M'Boom. He also has a long body of solo work that has been featured on Jazz 91.9 WCLK over the years. His new release on Savant is called Landscapes, and features a trio including Rick Germanson on piano and Ira Coleman on bass. Vibes are the focus on this record. You can hear cuts from Landscapes at various times on WCLK in particular during Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
