Twenty seven year old Nashville born Singer, Songwriter and Pianist, Kandace Springs counts among her influences and, inspirations such performers as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Roberta Flack and Norah Jones.  On her Blue Note debut Soul Eyes, Springs charts a course all her own.  The album features her alto vocal range, her own compositions and, a spacious sound that melds both Jazz and her Nashville upbringing.  You can hear cuts from  Soul Eyes on Jazz 91.9 WCLK  during Serenade To The City, Monday through Fridays from 10:00 p.m.

Jazz 91.9 WCLK will be featuring the the debut release on Art of Life Records by Trumpeter and Composer, Chris Rogers, Voyage Home.  It features the late Saxophonist Michael Brecker in one of his final studio sessions, Guitarist Steve Khan, Saxophonist Ted Nash, Pianist Xavier Davis, Bassist Jay Anderson, Drummer Steve Johns, Saxophonist Roger Rosenberg, Trombonist Art Baron, Keyboardist Mark Falchook, Percussionist Willie Martinez and a digital sample of the late Trombonist, Barry Rogers.  Rogers is the son of the late Trombonist Barry Rogers.

Saxophonist Paul Taylor has been one of the players defining Contemporary Jazz since his first record On The Horn in 1995.  On his new release on Peak Records/eOne, Countdown, he plays across a number of genres, including Dance Pop/EDM, trancelike Neo-Soul, Electronica, Folksy Lite Rock, Reggaeton, even a touch of Blues. You can hear cuts from Countdown at various times on Jazz 91.9 WCLK in particular during Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
