Join me Saturday, September 24, 5:30 p.m. at Betty Mauldin Park in Downtown Historic Norcross, GA.   I will host Jazz in the Alley featuring the Jazz vocals of Tony Hightower.  The outdoor event is open to the public.  Patrons are encouraged to bring chairs, picnic baskets and their favorite beverages.  Or, get dinner-to-go from one of the many nearby restaurants.

I support First Tee Atlanta, whose mission is to positively impact the lives of Atlanta's young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.  Thanks to everyone who came and said hello at John A. White Golf Course on their annual Community Day benefiting First Tee Atlanta on Saturday, August 20.   Great time, great weather, great cause and I played in the golf skills challenge and got in a round, too.  For more information about First Tee Atlanta and John A. White Golf Course, click here.

Congratulations to Vaughn Thomas of Harmony Entertainment, the winner of the Jazz 91.9 WCLK Signature Serenade silver cup for raising the most money for the station during his stint as host on Signature Serenade during our Summer Jazz-a-thon. In June, Thomas played his favorite Jazz cuts and sat in with Debb Moore for an evening devoted to great music and raising money to keep his favorite Jazz public radio station alive.
