Great news for Contemporary Jazz lovers as Najee has a new record out on Shanachie Entertainment, Poetry In Motion. This release includes guests:  Will Downing, Maysa, Incognito, Eric Roberson and Phil Perry, among others.  You can hear cuts from Poetry In Motion at various times on  Jazz 91.9 WCLK in particular during Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.   

New Music: Let It Go By Norman Brown

Norman Brown's debut release on Shananchie (and his first solo release in five years) is called Let It Go.  The new release includes includes Jazz and R&B flavors, with plenty of the guitar virtuosity that Brown's long-time fans and Jazz 91.9 WCLK listeners know so well.

He joins with Chante Moore for "Holding You," and re-imagines the Five Stair Steps classic "Oooh Child" for a new era.  Brown is also joined by:   BWB Bandmates, Rick Braun and Kirk Whalum; Sounds of Blackness; Marion Meadows;  and, S.O.U.L & TrayCar.

New Music: Prototype By Jeff Lorber Fusion

Legendary Jazz Fusion Keyboardist, Jeff Lorber has his 20th album out on Shanachie Entertainment, Prototype. The record includes original songs and a lineup including Jimmy Haslip and Andy Snitzer; and, Lorber's Fourplay bandmates Nathan East and Chuck Loeb.  You can hear cuts from Prototype on Jazz 91.9 WCLK at various times in particular during Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.

New Music: Around The Horn By Rick Braun

Contemporary Jazz Trumpet Player, Rick Braun has a new record out on Shanachie, Around The Horn.   Braun is a mainstay on  Jazz 91.9 WCLK.  He stopped by our studios when he was in town recently.   Around The Horn features special guests Peter White and Lindsey Webster.  The record includes Braun's interpretations of songs from Selena Gomez, Coldplay and Alicia Keys, along with original songs.  You can hear cuts from Around The Horn at various times on WCLK in particular on Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.

Jazz 91.9 WCLK has been playing Lindsey Webster's music as long as she's been putting records out. When she plays in Atlanta she always stops by the station to catch up. The Woodstock, New York native is a singer and lyricist whose style has been compared to Sade, Swing Out Sister's Corinne Drewery and Carole King, among others. Back To Your Heart, her debut record on Shanachie, was funded by close to 200 people  via Kickstarter. Good work, Lindsey. We knew you when.
